Mahad, September 10th 2022: On September 10, “Teachers’ Day’ was celebrated in St. Xavier’s school with great fanfare, zeal and enthusiasm. Every year Teacher’s day is celebrated on 5th September in India to acknowledge the contribution of teachers in the society. This day marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was the first Vice President and the Second President of India. He is well known for his notable work as a teacher, philosopher and a scholar.

 

The programme began with a warm welcome to all the respected teachers and the honourable dignitaries on the dais. The programme was inaugurated with lighting the lamp and garlanding the portrait of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan by the dignitaries. A euphonious prayer song was sung by the students of std X & XII. All the teachers of our school who’ve been our guiding light since our childhood were felicitated by offering gifts while announcing their special qualities.

 

A speech conveying the significance of teachers in moulding the future of this planet was delivered by Mast. Aaditya Salagare and Miss. Ayesha Mulla. Furthermore a melodious Song was dedicated to all the teachers by the students of Std. XII. Flawless dance was performed by the girls of Std X. This dance was followed by another humorous and energetic dance performed by the boys of std X and XII. These dances uplifted the mood of the entire mob and a wave of excitement look over the entire school. Later, the festivity of the event was taken to a greater level by a zealous speech delivered by the Chief Guest, Respected Chairman Raigad Bhushan Shri D’souza Sir. Lastly, vote of thanks was proposed by the Principal of the institution thanking all the students who had made the event successful. The programme came to an end and the gathering dispersed after singing of the National Anthem.
