AFFILIATED FROM OCTOBER 2023 TO OCTOBER 2028

St. Xavier School celebrated a cultural programme on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd of October 2021 Unlike other years, the school decided to celebrate the occasion with simplicity adhering to the COVID19 norms. Yet the programme was a delightful one. Two great personalities of our country shared their birthdays on this day. One is the Father of our Nation Mahatma Gandhi and the other, Second Prime Minister of our Country Lal Bahadur Shastri.

The programme started with garlanding the portraits and offering flowers symbolizing due respect and honour. To imbibe the true meaning of the day and follow glorious trails of the noble souls towards a peaceful and prosperous world, speeches were presented by the students on their lives and principles

Aayu Parag Helekar of Std VII dressed as Mahatma Gandhi and other students of his class paid a creative homage to Gandhiji and Lal Bahadur Shastri by sharing some famous quotes of them which inspired all the students and was one of the significant moments of the day.

The Chairman of the institute Mr. Johnson P. D’Souza conveyed the message to follow the path of harmony and peace as preached by Mahatma Gandhi. He said that people take this day to remember a man who is responsive in a huge way for the lives they are leading today. He reminded the importance of kindness, truth, non-violence, resilience, simplicity and peace- all the things Mahatma Gandhi stood for.

The Principal of the School Mrs. Isabella D’Souza made the students aware about their responsibilities towards their school and home. She also encouraged the students to read books regularly to know more about great leaders. The entire programme came to an end by singing National Anthem and concluded the assembly.
